When you only want the white spots gone
No anaesthesia, no drilling — in a single same-day visit.
What is a white spot?
An opaque white mark on the tooth surface, caused by partial demineralisation of the enamel. It often appears as an early stage of decay, after orthodontic appliances are removed, or from excess fluoride (fluorosis).
- Demineralisation around brackets after orthodontics
- Fluorosis
- Enamel hypomineralisation
- Childhood fever or antibiotic use
What is ICON resin?
ICON resin is a resin-infiltration system developed by DMG of Germany — a minimally invasive treatment that improves white spots without drilling or anaesthesia.
Resin seeps by capillary action into the micro-pores of the demineralised enamel and hardens, matching the refractive index of the surrounding healthy tooth so the white spot naturally disappears.
White Spot · ICON resin, Who it's for

Those bothered by white spots on their teeth
Those who would rather not drill the tooth or fit a restoration
Those who want it resolved simply, the same day
Those with mild, early-stage white spots
Notes & limitations
For severe white spots or extensive discolouration, results can be limited.
Suitability is always confirmed through a consultation before treatment.
Frequently asked
- Can I go about my day right after?
- Yes — you can resume daily life immediately. As the procedure needs no anaesthesia, there is little to no discomfort afterwards.
- Is the effect permanent?
- Because the resin infiltrates and hardens inside the tooth, the effect is long-lasting. Individual results can vary with lifestyle, and regular check-ups are recommended.
- Does it work on every white spot?
- It is effective for mild to moderate, early-stage white spots. Wide or severe cases may not be suitable, so it is decided after a consultation.
- Is the procedure painful?
- There is little to no pain — anaesthesia is not needed. Some people feel a faint twinge during the procedure, but most experience no discomfort.
